93 dakota 5.9L 360 electric fan clearance issue
as the title says I'm having clearance issues with an electric fan..I have a 5.9L 360 in my 93 dakota and im wanting to get rid of the clutch fan and install the mark 8 fans but I measured the fan at 5 1/2" and from the water pump pulley at 3" give or take...just from the fan to the middle of the fan motor was 3".. I'm sure I'm either going to have to stick with the clutch fan or find a smaller fan.
I guess what the main question I'm getting at is has anybody installed an electric fan if so which one... or if you have installed the mark 8 or taurus fan how did you do it...thinner radiator, different radiator, modify the grill to set the radiator closer to the front?

Ive done this and run this. Does your Dakota have the two core braces that attach just to each side of the hood latch?
You have to dump the clutch fan and the E helper fan if it has one. You have to shave all the extra plastic on the fan you purchased. You can bend the core braces and slide the mark fan in. It works great.
Use the trigger from the E helper fan to activate a signal for the new fan. You need to run a DAKOTA DIGITAL relay. The mark fan uses alot of juice. 40amps minimum.
If your fan has two speeds use the lower speed to start.

That should fit with no issues. You need a clutch fan tool to remove the nut. But most places will loan it. Soak it good.
My set up is totally different than your so you are going to have to fabricate your mounts differently.
You will REALLY notice the difference getting rid of the mechanical fan.
