Almost a back fire.
Almost a back fire.
So we rebuilt the carb and the car is running good but has like a thump sound or feel, Its almost like its miss firing, We checked the spark plugs and the timeing on it and we get it close but its still their, Its almost like its missing or one cylinder not firing.
I think I found the problem, I checked the Compression on all 8 and got 119-121 psi,, The last spark plug I took out the gap on it was closed all the way..And yes its the same motor....I am learning as I go...
Well done. You did most of what I would have suggested to locate your problem.
If your lifters a failing I would not run the engine anymore. All unfiltered oil goes through the pump first, very small metal can get through the filter sometimes. The obvious harm is the crank bearings but if the bearing siezes to the crank and spins the crank can be damaged beyond repair in the worse case.
