Which Carb?

I have a 440 in my 68 Coronet and have a 1405 Ebelbrock carb in it, Now being that it is a 600-650 cfm I was told I was starving the motor from fuel and air, Should I go with a Edelbrock carb different size or maybe like a Barry Grant street or speed Demon?

Depends on your motor specs, ported heads, cam size, compression, etc, etc, if its fairly stock, i think that carb should be fine. If motor is modified, a bigger carb like a 800 thunder series,or holley 750 or 800 dp, it will add about 6-10 horse power on top.

It would probably make more top end with a 750, but if you're happy with it as-is I would leave it alone. I'll bet the throttle response and fuel mileage is pretty good right now. There's always gonna be some a-hole in a minivan telling you how your car should be built...except he's in a minivan.

Pretty much what todd said, but I know a few fairly stout 440s running that cfm carb, usually Holleys though. Doubt I'd go over 750, unless there's been a lot of work done to the engine. Also remember that cfm by itself isn't whole story.

For giggles, I'd probably go with a bigger (and better) air cleaner though. Would look better and might improve air flow.
