I just get my new camshaft (262H) from comp cams with the timing set #2103 which according to the comp cams website is the correct for this cam but I have a doubt about the installation of this kit

Every camshaft I've seen had bolt holes to have the timing sprocket installed on it but this camshaft doesn't have it, only has a guide that matches the guide on the timing sprocket but I think something is missing here because I can rotate the sprocket by hand and with other hand I keep the cam from moving.

I think in the hole between cam and sprocket should be something more but if that's the case the Camshaft - Lifter- Timing kit doesn't include it

Any idea what could I have been missing here?

 

From your description sounds like you are missing the key (Half moon key known as a "Woodruff") . You NEED to degree that cam. Google "how to degree a cam"

Also guys have made mistakes with those advance/ retard drive sets. You must match the symbol on the keyway to the symbol for TDC. That is if you are using the "straight up" keyway, usually "0", then use the timing mark stamped "0"

 

Should the key be included with the kit?

I'll try to degree the cam tomorrow

 

Key is never include, use the old one or get the Mopar degree set..
