Decoding my 383?

Decoding my 383?

I Just bought a 59 ford f100.The engine was replaced with a 383,that Im sure of.My main question is how can I tell the year and exact model engine.Here are some pics,not great but maybe someone can help.I will have more soon.

help

also are 383 freeze plugs the same for all blocks.thanks for any help.

Look harder...on the side of the block you will find the date. Month, day, year format.

This is my 440 block see the 6-12-73 and the 440?

If i remember right, before 68 blocks didn't have the date on them. So it could be a pre 68 big block
