Engine Block Numbers

Hi,
Could someone please tell me where I can find the VIN/engine number stamped into the engine block on a 1968 Plymouth Fury III with a 383 Commando engine?

Thanks

So there are no numbers of any sort on the engine block? Or any way to identify it?

That doesn't seem right?

If the vin is there, it would be on the passenger side just above the oil pan. But I think TV is correct. There are casting numbers on the block that can help date the engine. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.
