I have an issue with the fuel pipe System of my 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook. The car wasn’t on thé road for 27 years and I bought it this September. The pipes seem to be clogged, the fuel pump (new) can‘t get fuel to the carburator. I installed a provisionary fuel hose directly from the pump in the gas tank (through the opening for the fuel level indicator in the trunk) and then everything works fine.
But when I use the original fuel pipe system the engine won‘t run.
I am attching a photo showing the opening of the fuel level indicator and there I see the fuel pick up pipe in the middle of the gas tank. Is there a sieve or a filter which could be clogged, blocking the fuel pick up?
