Getting head job done

Getting head job done
Have the original stock heads off my 1966, 361ci Plymouth Satellite to get hardened valve seats installed mainly, but while I was at it, also getting new springs and valves resurfaced. Guy at machine shop said my valve guides are all good, so no need to replace.
My main question is should I go a head and get new valve guides regardless as this sounds almost like a pay me now or pay me later type thing?
Is there anything else that should be done to heads? I forget exactly all what the guy said he was going to do!
Hoping for at least one quick answer as the guy should be starting work on heads first thing this morning.
Thank you

I would go in armed with information. Find allowable clearance for Int. and Exh. then ask what his procedure was and clearance found. Ask to be shown, I know alot of experienced machinist can do a "wiggle" test and be accurate but I like measuring the stems and a dial indicator at the stem when wiggled in guide.
While your there ask about valve seals as this would be the time to cut for positive lock seals.

Knurling valve guides is ok. Have you decided on what cam? Talk to the machinist about valve spring clearances & springs required for the cam. Cutting the valve guide for PC seals is a good idea, allows more clearance for valve lift

Than you everybody.
Between me and my mechanic, I believe we have the basics covered. I had done some serious searching on what all is involved in a head job, although I'm not that mechanically inclined, I can understand the principles of what I'm reading.
@TVLynn:
Not doing any cam. Leaving car as original as possible, which it still totally is, except for radiator and water pump and tires/wheels. It is still even the original paint!!
Here's what I was told by a couple other Mopar friends:
"If the guides are good, leave 'em. You won't gain anything from new ones if these aren't worn."
EXACTLY what my mechanic said too! Heads should be done today!!
Man! Can't wait for Spring!!
