Harmonic Balancer - Water Pump
I'm rebuilding a LA 360 as a 408. I was wondering if I can reuse my harmonic balancer, or if I need to buy a new one.
Also, should I get a high volume water pump? I've read that these are unnecessary in street applications, but I just want to make sure.
Thanks.

As far as the balancer goes It depends on the stroker kit If it is external balance yes you would use the original style balancer. HV oil pump is not needed on a street motor,
HV pump requires a 7 qt oil pan. Standard water pump should work fine, an 8 blade (HV)
WP would be best..

Thanks! I planned on putting in the HV oil pump and 8 qt pan. Already bought them actually. I wasn't sure on the water pump.
The stroker is a Scat 408 internally balanced.

You will no be able to re use the 360 balancer.
You can use one from a any LA 318 ( Im assuming you are using an LA 360 block currently). All LA 318 were balanced internally.
Also make sure you pull the weights from the TC if she is an auto or balance the pressure plate nuetral if she is stick.
