Heat in the intake manifold

Heat in the intake manifold
We have a 440 that we put a new aluminum intake (Edelbrock performer) on with a new Edelbrock 750 carb. Runs great and no problems starting or running. When we shut it off, the heat gets up into the carb and boils out the gas. We had an older edelbrock carb on it and the gas would boil and leak out a shaft on the passenger side where it would pool for a bit on the intake and then evaporate. The first time we replaced the intake we used an aluminum spacer to prevent the heat from going up to the carb and that burned out quickly. We then switched to a fiber block and that did not burn out, but the heat still goes to the carb shortly after turning off the engine. Any ideas on this for a better way to remove heat when the car shuts off or at least shield the carb so it doesn't boil off whatever is in the carb/fuel filter? Thanks!

The big problem seems to be the gas we have now, IE alcohol. I would block the heat passages in the crossover and definately use a carb insulator. I don't think it matters a heck of a lot what it's made of, as long as you use one. Some guys have even made them out of hardwood
