Question help

i need help with this one guys!!!...I took a 73 360 out of a Van and removed the heads....installed new valve seals..put heads back on..(removed heads just to look at cylinders and piston tops) ..installed and edelbrock cam and lifters, installed and offenhauser intake with holley 650 carb...put all back together and it started fisrt time...however i took it out for the first long drive...approx 250 miles...stopped to check motor and noticed oil all over the front of the motor and alternator..(new one of course!)...seems like i have too much pressure in the bottom of the motor...oil looks like it is coming out of dipstick...any suggestions?????

Are you sure the leak is not from the front of the intake? This is a real problem on Edelbrocks (shame on you, Vic) because some models have a gap where they mate

I NEVER use the gasket front/ rear seals, but rather get everything ready, lay a huge bead of your choice of RTV, and lay the manifold down, and quickly snug it down. Then I take a towel on one finger and "smooth" the bead on front and rear, and examine to make SURE it made a seal.

Other than that, what are you using for PCV, breathers, etc?

Also, what lead up to the valve seals? What do you know about the condition of the engine?
