high tension leads on my 440 cu in

I am restoring an 1967 GTX and am confused about the routing of the high tension leads. Does anyone know why there are tabs on the valve covers? Are these for the leads to # 7 & 8 plugs? or?
Thanks
Dave

Dave -

Welcome aboard!

Are you talking about the spark plug wires? If so, then yes, Chrysler did put partial looms on the valve covers to route the wires to the spark plugs (around factory exhaust manifolds).

Odd that you said #7 and 8, since they are on opposite sides of the engine. The looms generally hold 2 wires each, IIRC.

Welcome to the forum.

Possibly, the best example of what you're looking for, are in Rickyr's '68 GTX's pictures here within the site.

The little "clips" are welded to the valve cover itself and would hold only one wire if in fact that's what they are for.
