Looking for original carb for 1964 300K
I purchased a beautiful 1964 Chrysler 300 K automatic coupe a few months ago. It runs and drives fine, you can cruise on the freeways at 80mph with no issue. The 8mpg stings a bit, but as long as it's just a weekend driver, that's no big deal.
The previous owner installed an Edelbrock carburetor which is a little too large to fit correctly under the hood.
I've been searching around a bit online to try and find a stock four barrel carburetor that I can replace this back out with, but I've had no luck.
I'm also interested in trading up to a twin four barrel carb while I'm at it, but I think this would take a new manifold as well.
I've had trouble finding any real resources on this, hoping someone might already have experience with this, or at least give me some pointers on how to find the necessary parts.

The carb should fit under the hood.. It is simillar in size to the old AFB/ AVS carbs. What kind of air cleaner are you using ?
It's a 5K lb car so it is not going to get 20 MPG Around town 8-10 is normal..
Check the ign timing and make sure the vacuum advance is working..

the 300 K cam with a 2-4 carbs OR a single 4 bbl the first that 300 could have come as a single 4 bbl.
the 2 carbs numbered are 3505. iam trying to find the rest of my cater books. HINTS on rejetting. 1. change only A jet OR a rod, dont change both at the same time. 2. if a jet dosent come out easy DONT force it. i have- a trick to getting one out. 3. start by changing the steps on the rod. make the steps closer it each other, than the eddy carb came with.

TVlynn is right...it should fit. There would have been a Carter AFB on there originally which is the same fit as an edelbrock. Is there a spacer under the carb? There was not one stock. Is the air filter original? Your car, if it is all stock(minus carb) would have come with a 413 and a 4 barrel carb and possibly dual carbs. Only the non letter series had the 383 with the 2 barrel so you can bolt one on for better gas mileage but you would have to change the intake too.
As for the dual carb setup you mentioned, yes you will need a different intake manifold for that and they are alot more expensive plus the cost of 2 carbs instead of 1.
