Mondello's does a Mopar 340 ...
... we have just buttoned up a small block Mopar build for a customer, it is a 340 SBM with iron heads, solid roller camshaft, single plane intake, one of my 4150 A.P.D. carbs and it is a pump gas combo, the motor has made 499.6 hp so far, we're hoping to crack 500hp this weekend, we shall see ...
... i though you guys might like a peek at the little guy, we think it turned out pretty nice ...

... well guys, looks like the Jones Vac.Pump drive system was worth over 25hp on the little SBM 340, and that was with 7.5 inches of vacuum also ...
... it made 525.6hp & 461lb/ft, so we are shipping this thing !!! ...

makes the ring's seal better?
does it also eliminate the pressure that happens at high rpm's and the oil collecting around the crank
and 25 xtra hp how?
just by causing the rings to seal?
increasing vacuum in the block or the intake?
i have the extra belt slot on the pulley for the old air pump can that be used for one of these vacuum pumps?
i need to check this out at the summit racing and see what type of options are available?

... yeah, that's the down-side to a vac.pump set up, they are not cheap, this complete system from Jones Racing is a tick over 2K, but it is a complete system, alternator, vac.pump, brackets & hardware, hoses & fittings, HTD pulleys & belts, vac. regulator, drive mandrel and breather-tank, plus this vac.pump has a 5yr warranty also, only one on the market that has that, Jones is quality stuff ...

... the gaps in the rings lets small amounts of compression leak past into the crankcase, and at 7000rpm this results in a lot of crankcase pressure, the vac.pump actually turns this area (crankcase) from a positive pressure into a vacuum, about 7.5 inches on this setup, which is to be street driven, if it were a drag only deal, i'd turn it up to about 11-12 inches of vacuum, and the motor would make even more HP ... ... vac.pumps are a wonderful upgrade, if you can afford them ...
