Newbie here-first vintage car and need lots of advise

What problems will I have when using no lead gas in my 67 dodge dart. Can't really rebuild motor just yet. What do I need to do to get by for awhile?

Of course it did. UNeaded fuel didn't come along until the infamous fuel fillers of the late 70's with the small neck and the Federal warning sticker: "Warning:!!! You will be hung by the ***** if you modify this filler neck and use leaded fuel"

So far as problems, I would not expect much of any. First, you are likely NOT pulling a heavy trailer with the car, nor are you likely to be trying to drive it hundreds of thousands of miles as your "only car."

If you ARE simply get a set of later model heads with the hardened seats and do what you have to do.. According to my "valve guy" you want a bit more stem clearance, but yours are VERY likely worn some, anyhow.

You remember this crap, eh?

I've been running unleaded in my old 68 since I've had it, havent had a problem at all... But if your that concerned you can go to just about any auto parts store, atwoods, ace hardware, or probably even walmart... and pick up a bottle of lead additive, My grandpa uses it in an ancient generator he has... that thing is probably from the 1940's lol.

The unleaded lacks some of the lubrication properties that the leaded had, it also doesn't provide the same burn properties. If your Dart was a high compression factory motor you'd probably have problems with detention. My 70 skylark suffered from this problem on factory heads.

As stated, you should be fine in your Dart.

i have seen people say that Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas will help. i cant say it will do that but it might. use 4 oz for 10 gal of gas. been using it for 30 years. i have even over dosed by 4 X with no trouble. when i use MMO my engine starts VERY fast.

1967 dart on unleaded gas

Thanks for the help/advise guys. My 273 V8 only has 43000 miles and I didn't want to "produce" any problems if I could avoid them.
