No fire after rebuild

I have a 1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring which I just put a new engine in - 318 V8. The car was running before I started the swap. New engine (professional rebuild), new wires, plugs, battery, distributor, rotor and cap. The car tuns over but no fire. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have fuel, in the tank and in the carb?
Do you have spark, 12 volts at the coil?
Air, fuel and spark, you need all three.

I do have gas in the tank. I am using starting fluid until the fuel pump gets gas up the line to the carb. I have no spark from the coil that I can detect (I literally held the wire in my hand as I turned the engine over). How do I check to see if there is 12V going into the coil?
