performer rpm intake

performer rpm intake
Really starting to dislike this performer rpm edelbrock intake part no 7193 and the sad thing is haven't even had it running yet. The hi rise element is proving to be a real hassle. First we find out that we can no longer use the air cleaner and base for the air grabber hood due to not enough clearance and now as I am starting to hook up throttle and kickdown linkage I'm finding that nothing wants to hook up correctly. Throttle cable is to short, cable and kickdown bracket is to short, kickdown rod going to trans pivot is to short. Anybody else been down this road? if so what remedies did you find to overcome these issues? Getting frustrating for sure. Just one more thing anybody interested in a edelbrock performer rpm intake that's been installed but never run? LOL.

Its a good intake, but sucks with factory brakets. On a small block 360 I used a performer, not the rpm and everything fit ok.. Your gonna have a nightmare with the factory air cleaner set up. Good luck

I am fitting a Performer and EB 650 with electric choke to my 318LA. It is in a 68 Coronet 500 and I am having trouble finding the neccessay drop down base not only to clear the bonnet but the main problem is clearing the electric choke body.

mmm this will be of no help to you . but before my engine goes back in, my cars going down the fab shop & doing major k frame mods & will be lowering the k frame mounting towers , doing mods to the sump so the engine sits lower in the bay & will be using a dart/cuda hemi scoop for air cleaner clearence .
