Rebuilding My Carb Today, Any tips or advice?

Im rebuilding my 1406 electric choke edelbrock carb today. I bought a gal of carb cleaner with a parts basket and a rebuild kit. Is there anything that i should know/ do/ be careful with? Ill go slow, take lots of pictures, and set out the parts in the order i took them off. This is my first carb rebuild so any advice would help. Thanks

Don't rush the job. Let it soak 6-8 hours. SPray it down with some brake cleaner to get the residue off & blow the passages out

Wear rubber gloves !!!!!!!

Spray the top gasket with WD40 for easy removal if you think you'll be going back in for adjustments.

throw the 1406 away in the garbage and invest in a Holley.

Take notes on all adjustment screws. This will give you a baseline once the carb is back on your car.
