Replacing fuel tank

Hey guys,

Has anyone ever dropped a tank on a late 60's b-body Coronet? Mine is a 67. On the passenger side I see the j-bolt at the end of the tank strap that needs to come off with no problem, but on the drivers side the strap just seems to disappear up into the frame. Maybe it needs to be accessed from the trunk area? I don't know. I had to replace my sending unit so decided to just do it all since I have surface rust on the old tank and who knows what it looks like inside after 48 years!

Any advice on dropping this fuel tank would be appreciated.

not familiar with coronet. many a bodies have a stamped place in the frame where the strap hooks. just support the tank, unbolt, and move/ bend the strap down and around

Just need a DEEP 9/16 socket Straight removal.. Remove the two straps make sure the tank is supported. The J hooks are removed after the tank is removed
