On a big mopar you need to spend money to get decent quality heads. Forget speed master and all the other low dollar heads because you can make your stock heads work as good as they do. I don’t recommend Edelbrock but there E-street heads have been used by several with success but the head I would recommend are the Trick Flow 240. I’ve seen these heeds make over 750hp with a 383 block a 4.25 stroke and a +..030 bore. They make a larger max wedge head also but they weren’t available for this build.

Check out 440sorce.com they have decent information on the big mopar and have decent stroker kits.

From my experience, the guides are a funky OD that requires customs made if a replacement is needed. The valves are a crapshoot for surface finish. The springs, studs and guideplates are garbage. When it is all said and done, you are better off with a set of AFR or brodix heads unless you are capable of doing the work yourself.
