Vapor Canister

Hey guys, I have my truck almost put back together and the last thing I have to do is fix the vapor canister. Its letting charcoal get sucked into the carb. I bought the filter but I can't get the canister open. It looks like the bottom would twist off but no luck. Does anybody have any knowledge on this? Its a 1984 Dodge D100 w/ a 225 slant six.

Get rid of it is the easiest answer. Won't cost you anything. It's just a smog canister.

Problem fixed. The one they sell for a 1991 Jeep Cherokee is identical.
