what solid flat tappet cam can i use 360 magnum

Hi
I cant run the solid roller cam I have as .590 lift is just a little too much lift for the stock bottom end. Just not enough piston to valve clearance.
Can anyone recommend a solid flat tappet cam they have successfully run in a 360 magnum with a stock bottom end.
My engine is stock bottom end with edelbrock ally heads. It has 9.5 comp and a vortech supercharger which will be running between 8 to 12 psi. I am after a hot street car as I love power. I will visit the draqs several times a year and will be a weekend fun cruiser. I have a 2800 stall. Can anyone recommend a solid flat tappet cam.
Thanks Greg

The 0.590 lift will be fine with a stock bottom end (been there, done that, with flycutting the pistons). But you may require a special blower cam grind for a very successful boosted engine. It will be best to seek one out from an engine builder that builds boosted engines or a cam manufacturer/grinder.

I looked at flycutting the factory pistons but they are cast very thin which worried me a bit.
How much did you cut?
Cheers

I used forged pistons, and I believe we took 0.80 out of the reliefs. And I would never boost a cast piston!

Didn't these engines come out with a supercharger on it in a dodge ram?
They did in Australia?

A bit of a puff might be ok, but if you like the power prepare for some trouble with stock ring gaps.

As far as the cam goes, I'd be E mailing all the big cam companys with their on line forms for recommendations and then look up some of the custom cam grinders and telephone. Long distance charges may be worth the personal conversation.

Dan.

Your right Dan, I am putting the engine back together next week and will be opening up the ring gaps.
I was advised to open top ring to .022 second ring to .029 and oil low .030s

340 STROKER 416

Question, Just ran my fresh build 416 on the dyno, were having problem with oil getting through the rocker trunions, plenty of oil going in the shaft just not enough coming trough the oiling holes in the rockers. I 'm running crane shaft rocker, over heated 9 push rods and flattened 3 adjusters. Running this with 273/281 solid roller cam with 640 lift. Anyone ever run in to this problem.

Ive never ran forced induction ...other than a ram scoop out front behind the grill
but we have a book on the cocept and applications
Dan is true on his input ,
if you use hi psi use the fordged pistons then with a lower lift cam and just turn up the boost ..your cam grind needs little to bearly no overlap
