What's my distributor rotor supposed to look like? (1984 E Class)

Hey, guys. I'm new here, and new to old Chryslers in general.

So I picked up a nice looking E Class the other day (2.2L Turbo), and it was running OK, but now I'm having a little trouble.

The car won't start now, but I've got a couple of codes to help me out…

-42 and 54-

Over at allpar.com I got this info:

Code 42 1984 model injector circuit 1 open or shorted
Code 54 Signal loss from the fuel injector sync pickup during engine rotation. (HEP)

(I also had 21, 24 and 51, but I replaced the O2 sensor and I haven't gotten those codes again)

I think I've got the problem narrowed down to the thing underneath the distributor rotor. Or possibly the distributor rotor it self. Does that sound right to you guys?

I was wondering about my rotor mostly though. Elsewhere on allpar.com the rotor for the turbo 2.2l is described as having a hole in one of the rotor shutters to help the computer identify the #1 position. I don't have a hole in mine, and the guys at Orilye's said they don't show any different rotors available.

Would having the wrong rotor in there cause a problem like this? Is there even such a thing?

Thanks in advance for any help, guys. I appreciate it.
