Hopefully no broken bits fell inside, I think I'd take the front off and have a llok at the other stuff in there.

 

My feeling exactly. New and less than 120 mi.

Told him to go to dealership for Mopar piece.

This difference must be the culprit? Old (lower) versus new. Weak construction (lever) at best! And different part numbers!

 

Top looks like the 8 Cylinder one?

 

Bob, the top one is the parts store (warranty)replacement for the failed one, just to get the car home. It is the same visually and part number for what was installed and failed. The bottom is what came out prior to the rebuild. I see Summit and Mancini sell both types, but the cheap ones are like the broken one.

 

Wow... Just goes to show, you just dont know what your getting anymore? All this off shore stuff is getting worse by the minute....

 

Well, long story short. Apparently there is a different pump (upper pump in photo) for the newer "A" engine and the part numbers cross.
