WTF

Will this still work? A friend just pulled this on the side of the road.

I have NEVER seen this happen before!

Told him to go to dealership for Mopar piece.

The difference

This difference must be the culprit? Old (lower) versus new. Weak construction (lever) at best! And different part numbers!

Bob, the top one is the parts store (warranty)replacement for the failed one, just to get the car home. It is the same visually and part number for what was installed and failed. The bottom is what came out prior to the rebuild. I see Summit and Mancini sell both types, but the cheap ones are like the broken one.

Well, long story short. Apparently there is a different pump (upper pump in photo) for the newer "A" engine and the part numbers cross.
