1950 Plymouth Transmission Linkage
 

Hello Mopar owners, I have a 1948 Plymouth Deluxe, 2 door sedan. But the engine is from a '49 Plymouth; I had to change the transmission and purchased a 3 speed transmission from a '50 Plymouth, which I recently installed with a new clutch and pressure plate. However, after I started it it seems to be stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. I would appreciate any photos of correctly adjusting the transmission linkage rods on each shifter lever on the transmission, and which lever works for the gears. I believe reverse and 1st are on the same lever, with 2nd and 3rd on the other after moving the lever that engages the ball action, but am not sure. Assistance (and photos) is greatly appreciated.

So what you are saying is ????????? You have a Hy-Drive and don't know how to adjust it??????

I have a 1950 Plymouth that won’t go into reverse of 1st gear. I used a 1949 dodge pickup 218 motor. I had to change the front motor mount pedestal and bell housing the truck bell housing has the pedals and master cylinder integrated in the housing. The then changed the starter because trucks were still floor start and then the filter housing. Now the reverse lever hits the starter. I looked at a original 3 Speed Plymouth and the lever has plenty of clearance could they have sent me the wrong bell housing?
