1968 D100 stepside PU

I am trying to help out a friend identify the transmission in his truck. The truck is a 1968 Dodge D100 with a slant 6. It originally had a 3 speed on the column and was converted to a four speed on the floor.

I found some numbers on the side of the tranny case but was unable to find any info on it searching the web. My background is in forgin cars and the Mopar world is new to me. I would appreicate any help anyone will lend in helping me identify this tranny.

Here is a pic of the vin plate.

Here is a pic of the casting on the tranny case.

If I left out any info needed to help identify this tranny please let me know and I will gladly get it. Thanks in advance.

Is it a "side" load design, or a "top" load? If its the side load it will be an A833 of some variation, If its a top load design its the A435 "Truck" trans, with the 'granny' low and the 3' shifter handle. If it has a shifter like a car (h pattern hurst type shifter) its the 833....
