3 Speed Conv. Kit

Morning Guys,

I have a 72 D100 with a 3 speed on the tree and think I might have to convert it to the floor due to a binding issue I have been having, Has anyone done this conversion? I think I read the MR. Gasket kit is the best and cheapest. But not sure which kit I need. Do you have any recommendation based on the location of the hole that needs to be cut, so on? Thanks

The binding usually comes from whear in the linkage and can repaired by welding and drilling the holes in the shifter levers to the proper size. Another problem that effects the column shifter is bad body mounts, body alignment goofs up workings.
I haven't replaced a three speed shifter with a floor shifter in almost forty years and I think I used a Hurst shifter, I would guess that it's hanging in the garage somewhere. But I can't make a recommendation for you it's been to long.
Good luck

Thanks for the info, I noticed a good amount of play in the links coming off the steering column. Ill have to dig a little more and do some more research. Thanks again.,
