318 question

I have a 318 LA from a 73 Challenger. I am looking at putting that into a donor truck frame for my 55 Powerwagon project. The donor truck frame has a getrag tranny in it, 5 speed. I haven't actually seen the truck yet. My question is can I combine the engine with that tranny?

If you are or have access to a good enough fabricator / machinist, you can sometimes adapt "anything to anything." Sorry I'm not familiar with "getrag."

The general thing, when adapting oddball stuff to whatever, is get something you can work with, either an older cast iron bell or more workable, a scattershield. You don't need a NEW one, often you can find used ones that are "out of" spec for racing approval.

With a mill, adapter plates, and certain measurement tools, it's a matter of getting the shaft "into" the bell the right amount, absolutely plumb and centered on the crank, and of course a clutch cover / disk combo

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I didn't think it would be an easy match. I will go to plan B.
