After spending most of the year dealing with problem after problem on a mid size truck.. I ended up trying to stick it to the man and purchased the truck I wanted. Full size extended cab 4x4, smog exempt long bed. I bought it Eight weeks ago and have driven it a total of about Two days. The truck is as follows: 1975 Dodge W200 Ext. Cab Long bed. 31" Tires, Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front and both have 4.10 Gears. 360 four barrel and 727 transmission with a divorced 205 transfer case.
I am working on getting the oil pan gasket to seal correctly so that I can begin driving it on a daily basis. That way it can be a Working progress and not just a Project I am working on.

I live in Concord, Ca and I would like to find some quality mopar fans/mechanics, that may be able to help me with my project. I need this truck to be a daily driver for my business and I have a lot of plans to improve the truck over the next year.

Any help or directions on where to look for help would be greatly appreciated.

 

if you want to do the pan yourself it s not that hard of a job you should have more than enough room to drop it and install a new gasket one trick is to move the crank counter balance points up into the block by rotating the crank and the pan will come down the hardest thing i have had to deal with on re installing the pan is the 4 two up front and two in the rear bolts that are just at the end of the pan what i did to remedy this situation is use longer bolts "to aid in getting them aligned started with nuts on them i use the nuts to drive the pan up against the block then i install the other bolts then back off the nuts remove the long bolts and install the originals u should not have to many issues a simple fix should take you a good day to do this
of course i don't live in cali so i don't know any one on that side of the country but im sure some one here at the forum can help you

Never done it I have heard it is a "B" on a 4 wheel drive because the differential goes under the pan.

 

Thats a great idea with the longer bolts, I will give that a try.

I have removed the oil pan, and ground down the brake line bracket that is attached to the cross member. I did not grind too much to alter the strength of it, just enough to make more clearance for the oil pan to go back on. I am planning to replace the gasket add Slick 50 and quality oil and get the truck back on the road by the end of this weekend.

I found a guy that lives locally and is a HUGE Mopar enthusiast/mechanic, etc... Which I definitely need some help on this project. It is amazing what you can find out when you simply ask people questions.

and since you got the pan off you might as well install a new oil pump it's right there so go for it.
i have never done this on a 4x4 but in my 3500 work van and my diplimat

 

Nice truck. Instead of an oil pan gasket try a 1/8" bead of the Right stuff from Permatex.
