I saw this used 4 speed listed on Craigslist, http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/pts/2822262466.html

I wondered why there was no mention of it being able to be used in another A-body? The seller mentions all sorts of B and E bodies. The 69 barracudas are A-bodies, correct? Are the trannys that interchangeable? A body to B body? Just swap out the bell housings? and either lengthen or shorten the drive shaft? Not that this really matters to me, but was just wondering if I was missing something, I still consider myself learning this kind of thing. So any useful (or useless) information is welcome, teach me what you know.

Thanks,

Larry

Sure it will work if you have the right bellhousing. You need to know the bearing retainer size on the front of the tranny then you can go to Brewer's Peformance and start looking at all their bellhousings.

Usually the tail shaft is longer in the "B" body style for the shifter placement
"A" is shorter for the same reason

This is only for the 4 speed
