cuda 833/3.23 gears

I'm new to this so forgive me if I sound like an idiot. I have a 73 cuda with a fresh built 360 4 speed. It currently has 4.56 gears which is way too low for a street rod/cruiser. But I have an extra suregrip 8 3/4 with 3.23 gears. My question is, would the combination (4 speed and 3.23 gears) be ok? I'm not racing but want to be able to burn em off if I want. Any input would be helpfull. Thanx!

It will sure make it more drivable, all you can do is throw them in and try it.

3.23s and 3.55s are pretty much considered optimal all around gearing, in fact it was a pretty common gearing from the factory. You shouldn't have any problems. As far as "burning them (tires?) off", that depends on what's in the engine.

Cruising 3.23 would be good, 3.55 is ok but for what I think you want, 3.73 would be ideal.
