I have this 727 which i was told came out of a 91 dodge diesel. I pulled it apart and need to replace sone parts but not sure of the date.

On the left side of the case it has these numbers stamped just above the pan rail "53008539 0370 2342". So is this the 10,000 day calendar code? 0370 means it would be a 1962 case but its not a cable shift.

 

91 Diesel my guess is it is more likely to be a 618 Special HD 727 with over drive

 

Yeah i did some more research and found that 89 1/2 the rear support was changed from 4 bolts to 6 and this one has 6. It doesnt have an overdrive tho.

Either way, it wont work for using behind my 408 unfortunately.
