Hughes Performance 27-20 - Hughes Performance Street Rod Torque Convert
Hey guys. Quick question. I'm not too familiar with torque convertors, but looking at this one, can somebody give me some tangible details as to horsepower gains/drivability, and any other difference i may notice compared to stock? Its for a 318 w/ 904 tranny. Tranny has a shift kit B&M.

If it's for a daily driver I wouldn't go much more than that. There's a lot of variables when selecting a torque converter. Weight, differential gearing, kind of intake/camshaft, just street or street/strip, etc.. I always use an external performance transmission cooler when I run a stall converter of any kind cause they will cause more heat.. There are some places on line you can fill out a form with the information about your vehicle and it will recommend a converter or call one of the manufactures and they can recommend one. You don't want to put the wrong one in and have to do it all over again. I use a TCI, 10", 3500+ stall in a 73 D100 that weights a lot with real low gears in the differential, tunnel ram intake with 2-4 barrel carbs. I rarely drive it on the street. The converter get's the behemoth moving pretty good. I believe that the lighter the vehicle the less stall you'll need. good luck.
