Need help with info about a 46RE tranny.

I have a 46re tranny in my 2001 and I want to build it up for some fun in the mud. I want to know if i should keep it or go to some thing else? and what in interchangeable with others and 46RE? the tranny started having shifting problems and I think that it is the TCC cause it only happens when the tranny is hot. So if any one could help it would be awesome!

if you wanna build it, just go all out. when built these transmissions can handle upwards of 700 foot lbs of torque

The RH are more desireable to 4 wheel guys as they have the 3 pin connector. One pin is ground, the others can be switched to activate the O drive and lock-up converter when needed. The E trans has more pins and needs computer input to function. There are ways to get around the computer control but it can get complicated I hear.

Built right the 46re can handle plenty. Before you do anything make sure a couple things are correct on yours.

1. TV cable needs to me adjusted correctly. The is MANDATORY.
2. Check for a sloppy TPS sensor. If this is dragging the signals to the pcm trans control are off.
3. Directly above the PIN connections are the cooler input and output lines on the tranny. Drivers side. If these lines are leaking the PIN will be flooded and your trans will do some goofy stuff.
