I believe this trans may be the 0 A-833 FOUR-SPEED OVERDRIVE version but I need help from some of you pros identifying it for sure. Theres 2 numbers on it: C-13546 and Z5A0782. Looking forward to hearing which this is. Are parts fairly available for it if it needs rebuilding? Thanks so much guys.

 

Post a pic of the linkage on the side. I know some of these guys can tell you by seeing the linkage if it's an overdrive a833 or not. As far as rebuild kits go, you shouldn't have a problem finding a kit on ebay.

1. Is the case aluminum? yes=OD / no=depends on the build date

2. What size is the front bearing retainer (OD has 5.25" bearing retainer).

3. Is there a number stamped on the pad on the right side (eg pp833xxxx)xxxx is the
date code.

4. If the front shift rod points down it is an OD, if all three rods point up it is a
standard 4 speed.

Was wondering when someone would post about the front linkage pointing down.

 

It was on one of mine if I remember right. But the picture that was posted was very small and I couldn't see it real well. Figured we'd be better off if he posted a pic of his lol. How I knew someone would be able to tell by the linkage, by that shift lever pointing down.
