Another suspension thread...

Guys -

One of the things I'm doing with the suspension upgrade on the Charger is replacing the traction bars with Caltracks. I called Cavert Racing who make Caltracks and they said my 74 Charger had 21" front leaf spring arms, not 22" like every other Mopar B-body, including every other year Charger.

I'm going you get under the car tomorrow, or at least try to, and measure from the center bolt to the front eye loop. While that will settle the issue, just wondering if anyone else ever heard/seen this?

Thanks,

Archer

IMHO if you use chrysler O.E.M. race or stock, rear springs mounted correctly you should have NO trouble. when i see traction bars on a mopar it makes me think that person does not know mopars. the fastest mopars i have seen had NO traction bars.

Johns stuff really works well once you get it set up.... Not sure on the Chargers but I know there are some differences on the A-Body Lines...
Are you going to run a Split Mono Leaf System????

Bob -

In my research, it seems that Chrysler, in their infinite wisdom made "some" 1974 b-bodies with 21.25" front leaf sections and some with the standard 22" that every other b-body used from 1966 to at least 1975... thanks guys.

I finally got to crawl under the car and I lucked out with the std 22" flavor.

I'm going with a 6 leaf heavy duty spring from Firmfeel, with a slightly steeper arc to maintain my current ride height and will be replacing the torsion bars (with worked well, btw) with Caltracks. Adding their iso-delete package and a rear sway bar.
