Disc Conversion help PLZ!!!
I recently aquired a 71 Swinger....buttload of parts came with it along with about everything I need to complete a disc brake conversion up front. My question is what all will i need...Things I have: Everything from a 73 dart. A-arms, spindles, along with rotors calipers, front brake lines...I think Im going to need the brake booster and new master cylnder too? Please any information would be greatly appreciated I have never done this before..
PS: also came with the new matching upper and lower ball joints

What brakes do you have now? If you have 10" drums you can keep your existing upper control arms. If not you'll need upper control arms from a '73 and newer A-body. The spindles can come from a '73-'74 E-body, a '73-'76 A-body or any F-M-J body car like a Diplomat, LeBaron, 5th Ave, Volare or Aspen. No trucks or vans need apply.
but give us a list of things you have so we know where you are

I have the a-arms from a 73 dart...spindles from a 73 dart..rotors calipers from a 73 dart...thats where I am at..I have already switched spindles and a-arms so what I am worried about is If i need the booster or not and what All i need for that part of the job brake pedal and whatnot..and When I mocked it up today when I turned sharply to the right the driversaide caliper hits the sway arm...any ideas? When i looked at conversion kits they dont include anything to fix or change that issue?

Jackson,
Just complete this setup on my 71 Demon. Things I learned:
Ball Joint pickle and heat: One of mine stuck, lots of heat and pounding (insert dirty joke here)
Lower ball joints, not sure but I had to get new ones - something about the diameter was smaller on the 71's vs 73-76.
Mine was non-power assist, so I did get a new master cylinder. Also, I opted top go with the large bolt pattern, so this may be the reason why I needed lower ball joints. and hoses, the area that it hooks to on the frame needed a bit of grinding to get them to seat, but did it.
And brake fluid and a helper, saved time, especially after a long day playing mechanic - which I am not. There was link from a guy named charlie on this site that had a link to another site outlining the ins-outs of this, wasa good help.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
I just got done putting in my large bolt pattern 8 3/4, its beer time.

Thanks Cazbah362, I will see if i can find that site...Yea When I bought the car it came with new ball joints upper and lower for the conversion so I changed everything. Thing that has me weirded is the caliper hitting the sway arm.. When I looked up the 73 arm to the 71 they are different but I would think the conversion kits they sell would include something to deal with that but so far everytime I look at a kit they just have the same stuff I have listed already.
You may need the 73 lower arms & sway bar . I did a simillar conversion and had to do without the new sway bar I bought before the conversion on a 67 Coronet due to interference. I did not
add the power brakes on mine due to the HP cam I was using
