Do you need a distribution box
I have 4 wheel disc. Do you need the distribution box or can you just tee the lines and put in a adjustable valve to the rear brakes? This is on a 71 challenger that was orginally 4 wheel drums. It still has a distribution block in it when I bought the car. When I bought it, it had rear drums. I have always had a problem with how much pressure you had to use to get the damn thing to stop. It has power brakes on it now and I can still not lock them up.

I thought the distribution block was actually a residual pressure valve. The front and rear should be on separate circuits. I recall an article in Mopar Action that suggested gutting the valve and splicing a prop valve into the rear circuit. No actual experience here though.

I have replaced all of the flexible lines from the hard lines to the calipers. I just think the distribution block is most likely blocked, I get fluid bleeding at all the calipers but the thing just doesn't want to stop worth a ****. I can put in a adjustable pressure valve to the rear brakes to restrict the amount of pressure so they don't lock up first.

Rick Ehrenberg from Mopar Action magazine feels that the factory distribution block isn't necessary. The setup you describe is exactly what he suggests to do.

Some cars used a combo distro block an prop valve, some had them separate. If the distro block is separate, it's only function, other than distribution, is the loss of pressure warning switch. Not needed in my opinion
