Alternator not charging.

Good evening everyone.

I converted a 1972 dart into a race car. The car has two battery's that are both hooked up to the main kill switch on the car. I have a mini ND alternator one wire hooked up to the car. Which isn't charging the batteries. I tested the Alternator and it's pushing 14volts. I have an 8ga wire going from the alternator to a continues solenoid which, is connected to both battery's. I did connected another wire to the alternator to 12 volt source in the car, still nothing. Please help. Thank you.

Sounds like it's ether hooked up wrong on the wiring or the Alternator is no good.
Picture of the alternator and the wiring might help in helping resolve the issue?
Some of those Densos are low out put? Might need a 4ga. wire to push the amperage threw...

But:
1. Goes to to charge light
2. Ignition source

unless it is truly a one wire unit?

Large Red... Sounds like you go it on the battery side.

Please Note: The red wire needs to be on the back side of the "Master Shut Off Switch". If so equiped..

If the alternator is outputting 14V it's charging at least at that point. You are saying it's NOT 14V at the batteries? Either you have a REAL poor connection somewhere, or something is wired wrong.

Without details of how the disconnect / solenoid is wired, "no idea."
