Gauges and various accessories randomly going inop

So I've been having recent trouble with my truck. Completely randomly when I'm driving, my fuel/engine temp/oil press gauge, my windshield wipers, blower motor, horn, turn signals, and brake lights will stop working. I found that if i keep hitting the dash (forcefully) they eventually start working again. I dont want to keep up that method out of fear of hurting my dash permanently, but this is driving me nuts!
I have pulled off the dash and taken a peek at some of the wiring. Apart from being dusty nothing looks out of place.
It is a 1975 dodge w200. A starting place to try to fix this would at least be nice, thanks for any help!

Welcome, the wiring harness contention at the cowl usually is the problem , try opening it up and verify contacts. Also verify all grounds.

The harness goes through the firewall around the steering column, that's a connection.

The fact that you have to hit the dash ? I would take it apart and re solder all of the connection for the connector plug ( the big round plug) that connects to the instrument cluster The pins can come loose from the circuit board, not see able with the naked eye
