Headlights 69 charger

Just finished last project on 69 charger when I noticed my headlights on low beam were all on (all 4) the 2 outside are on good but the 2 inner lights are dimly lit. I was thinking bad ground somewhere. Well on the drivers side I found a black lone wire taped off on the end and just sitting there. I tested it and no power. I started car, turned headlights on and hit it with test light and it lit up. Then I shut lights off, car still running and test light didn't light up. I found the schematic and i am pretty sure that lone black wire is ground to that set of lights. Am I correct and would power go to it if not connected like this?

Thanks you again!!

Someday I'll be ale to give some information back! I hope..

If it's the ground coming from the bulb than it should test hot. If it's the ground going to the bulb from the chassis then it should be grounded and you may have gotten lost in the schematic. When you get it all wired back up make sure you remove the connector and test with a meter, not the headlamps themselves. The bulb completes the circuit so leaving it out can save you fuses or the fusible link if wired incorrectly. Good luck, bud.

Thanks! Looking at it again this morning, that lone black wire comes from one of the headlight connectors. Same as the other side, which goes right to ground. Haven't tested yet but going to before I put connector back on!

After checking with multimeter for load and continuity, I was pretty sure it was the ground for that set of lights. Attaching right in the headlight fitting. I grounded it just like the other side and bingo, the car burnt up! Just kidding!!! Headlights now working perfectly. Thanks for the help again and like I said I will keep an eye on future post to help out where and whenever I can.
