Petronix install

Picked up a Petronix Flamethrower Ignitor II dizzy for my 73 RR 440...maybe I'm thinking too hard on this but do I remove the ECU box completely? I know I have to jump the ballast connectors, hook up the pos to pos, neg to neg from the dizzy to the coil, then am I running a new ignition wire or reuse the existing wire that was hooked up to the pos side of the coil? I'm going to unwrap all the wire to see what is what, just looking for some insight!

Thanks!

Why in the WORLD would you convert from a Mopar breakerless system to Pertronix?

Or to put this another way, what is wrong with what you have now?

It's the whole billet distributor, not the Ignitor kit. The only reason I'm swapping is be cause my wiring is a mess, someone cut it up and did a bad job putting it back together, loose connections everywhere, just a mess. Plus I picked up the dizzy and coil brand new for under $200 at the track.

OK, well, how about a link to the thing by part no? Download the destructions? What did they say? That's what I would have to do......read the destructions, then repeat them back to you

I'm "guessing" this needs power. You'll need to feed it "switched ignition" and the brown coil resistor bypass wire. This is the brown that goes to the coil+ side of the ballast.

Got it, bypassed the ballast and used the brown wire. Instructions didn't say anything about getting rid of the old electronics. I cut the wires going from the ECM to the ballast and ran a jumper wire (to see if it works) and she fired right up! I was overthinking it
