Tune up Help?

Hey guys! I just changed out wires, cap, and rotor on my roadrunner with a 318 and now i have a horrible backfire. I'm pretty sure i have a just a wire crossed since it was running fine before. I have the firing order from autozone showing 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. But i'm not sure what to do with this info as far as where the locations of the cylinders are or where the location is on the cap. Can anyone help?

When changing wires/cap, do ONE wire at a time. Yes, odds are you have either wires crossed, or you've misaligned the first cylinder:wire (bumped the wires over one tower on the cap).

Pull number 1 plug and bump starter with coil wire pulled till it comes up on compression stroke by holding your finger over the hole till it blows it off. pull your cap and where the rotors pointing this is number 1 . Use firing order clockwise from there.

Thanks for all the help! I think the most likely thing is like what archer said, I'm off by one on the cap but i'll try a few of these suggestions when i get home and hopefully that will work.
