Hard to close/latch door on 89 Ramcharger
Not being a full time auto body person, but with some experience, I run into a problem with my Ramchargers drivers side door.
Latching in particular.
I've checked for droop, checked for up and down play in the hinges etc and nada.....
The latch opening runs/fits true to the post latch stud, the door fits to the vehicle uniformally all around etc etc and I'm thinking that the latch assy is just old from the daily grind of use and abuse.
The door will latch if you 'slam' (I cringe everytime I have to close that door all the way, but it will easily latch in a seemingly first position, but not to the doors fully closed position.
I'll assume it's time to replace that assy which latches to that stud on the post.
Ideas etc for a supplier or is the dealor the place to go?
The passenger side door latches/closes easily and softly with the slightest amount of closing pressure and would like the drivers door to get back to that point.
I own and drive 3 identical 89 LE's and all have the same problem.

I did try adjusting several times one day and after more attempts than I thought necessary, gave up.
Even bought a new striker post and installed and adjusted it several times with no joy.
I just ordered a new door latch assy from an on-line parts house, with the latch prt #55075873 being used.
We'll see what this new part will bring.
Thanks
