I have a question about decoding a 1979 dodge d50. I has step side bed and stacks like a lil red express but not sure if someone did this or its factory. I can get the vin or any numbers needed to help fiqure it outas long as you tell me were to find them (other then the vin i no were that is).I will post some picture if i can to try and help (when i learn how to do it ).

Not a factory deal.... Not on a D-50... And although I have nevr seen a D-50 with a step side bed I think its an aftermarket item as well. Maybe a local "dealer pkg" tho...

 

How do you think you could find out if its a dealer option?

 

Is there any way to check were it came from and what none?

 

Not any way for sure to find out that I know of, maybe someone else will chime in. There were several aftermarket companies back in the 70'-80's that did aftermarket narrow beds. ('specially for the 'mini' trucks of that time.)
