I have an M-Body...It's a Dodge/Plymouth Gran Fury

Mine is a 1981 Plymouth Gran Fury with a 318 and cold A/C...it's in storage right now...it will come out of storage in 3 months for new A/C lines and compressor...new master cylinder and brake booster...new carpet....headers from my Aspen and a dual exhaust kit from Summit Racing...it's going to get a little engine bling with a no lean burn air cleaner and some chrome valve covers...my 16 year old daughter is going to start driving it for her first car....it made it through the first daughter....It is my wife's grandmother's car from El Paso Texas...we kinda inherited it and it is what got me going on cars again..I will never sell it...Grandma crashed it and they put a Dodge front clip on it and the rear is still a Plymouth

Got everything with that A/C buttoned up tonight and got the A/C charged

Tonight I ran the vacuum pump on the system for an hour and then maintained a good vacuum on the guages for 15 minutes...I went ahead and charged the system up and with no leaks it is blowing cold are again...so much good that the suction line sweats all the way back to the compressor and the compressor cycled off once on low suction temp........put some chrome bling on it last night...with the A/C complete I have the brakes next...

Got two little pieces of belting from work and made me some insulators for the lines running across the radiator support....

Work on the brakes tonight...

Took out the old master cylinder and the old brake booster...that brake booster always gets me cussing........I found a little easier way this time...the new one was back in....took about 10 minutes to put it in and over an hour to take it out...got the new master cylinder hooked up and ready to bench bleed..I would say it was leaking back there

Went Junk yarding today

got up early....9:00 is early for me and hit the first Pick-a-part on this side of town....no old cars...then I hit their other location 45 minutes away on the other side of town..and got lucky....I found a Cordoba and 88 Fifth Avenue....

I scored a fresh air intake...a fan shroud...a five blade fan and seven blade fan...also one door lock cylinder...I got the fresh air intake installed tonight and took a pic of the damaged door lock cylinder...can you believe someone tried to break into this car when my first daughter was driving it....

Its an 81 right? Did you have some R12 laying around, or did you convert it to R134 for the A/C?

R134a with Ice 32....the drier was for 134 and so was the new expansion valve...I can't believe how fast it sweats back to the compressor on the suction side...it also makes the rubber part of the line sweat also...

Great Car

I drove one for a living and wish I had one. Great car, power steering took no effort, and it had an A/C unit that would freeze even me out which is hard to do since my calendar has only 3 seasons, fall, winter, and fall. I love your car.
