Is VO2 the code for Mod Top?

mr340 11-21-2012 03:18 AM

V02 is two-tone paint, and I have never seen it on a Duster, although I have heard of a few that had a painted roof with the vinyl roof trim

CORRECT! I have a 1970 V02 duster with a TX9 velvet black top and FJ6 sassy grass green body with the vinyl top trim splitting the paint line. After researching it I think it is a 1 of 1, 1970 340 4 speed bucket seat car.

post up a front and rear pic of the car also a shot of the interior door panel, and we can tell you if you have a swapped vin or the wrong title.

can i order a trunk dress up kit anywhere

mikerp76 11-27-2012 07:54 PM

does the vin on the title and the car match? if they do it may be a typo on the title. which does happen. on my plymouth the title has the wrong first letter. which says it's a dodge.

mr340 11-28-2012 03:28 AM

It has a '70 nose and tail lights, but the doors and dash are '73 or newer, it looks as if someone swapped some newer parts onto a '70 body and used the '73 vin and title. Is there a door tag on the drivers door? You can also look on the top lip of the radiator support for the vin and compare it to the dash, I bet they dont match.

scalfdon 11-28-2012 09:51 AM

Vin

The vin on radiator support is gone. So what do I do Von on car and title match but title says 70. Von decodes as73

mr340 11-29-2012 02:30 AM

There are at least two other places that have the VIN stamped, the package tray and the inner trunk lip on the drivers side (might be under the seal). look in those places for the numbers. As it looks now, you have a '70 with a '73 title.

If the entire VIN is stamped into the block, someone went thru a lot of trouble to do that, the block stamp should only be something like "3c537003" the first 5 digits of the VIN won't be there. Since someone went thru that much effort to swap a '73 VIN onto that car, I would look it over real good for the body VIN and have it checked by the local PD to see if it is not stolen. Honestly, if I were looking at that one to purchase, I would stay as far away from it as possible.
