1973 Plymouth Duster 340 Hood Release Cable

To anyone who can kindly assist, I am in search of a Hood Release Cable for my 1973 Plymouth Duster 340.
The inner wire cable is frayed, and it barely works.

I scoped out Doorman, but they do not show a replacement part. Also, I tried the standard auto suppliers but nothing.
Please let me know if you can help.

Thanks,
Paul

Thank You. Yes, thats it!
Was wondering if the inner steel cable can be replaced only. The rest of the cable is good (that I know).
Thanks, DodgeM880.

I don't know of a guaranteed way to repair your existing cable. There are a lot of variables like length, sheath ID, core OD and termination type. If I was going to try and repairing it I'd consider using the core out of a
universal throttle cable universal throttle cable
kit and
cable stops cable stops
... but, I don't think it's worth messing with.

However, I did find a NOS (New Old Stock) option on eBay and somehow it's cheaper than the reproduction previously mentioned.
Link below:
1972 1973 1974 NOS MOPAR Hood Cable Dart Duster Valiant Dart Sport

At the time of this writing the price was $74.72 (5 available / 11 sold).
Part #3695563
Overall length 79"

Wow! Thanks so much again. That is a lot more realistic pricing for me. You're a great help! Thanks!
