I just signed up to this site and I have a question if someone could help me out. I have a 69 340 swinger that I've owned for 12 years, it not a number-matching car but it's a true ( P) code 4sp ... It has a 71 ( 340 + 40 over ) with 3.91's. I have been searching and have found that they produced 16,637.... 69 ,340 swingers , but I can't find any info on the break down for how many were ( auto and 4 sp ). I would appreciate any help you could give me.

 

Thanks.... Still looking also , didn't think it was going to be this hard !.....Nice GTX, alwayed liked the 67 body style. I had a 67 Belvedere II conv. before I got the dart. Painted the dart the same color , should have kept both of them but garage wasn't big enough ....and my wife said NO !!

 

It's a 4 speed .... with 3.91's gears....it's a factory 4 speed car.

 

Thanks.... I did try those and came up with nothing, they used to have a place on there. You could put the first half of the vin number and it would give you the break down. Now all I could find was for Hemi & six/pack cars. I did get some info from a guy with a Galen Govier book though.

His numbers were Total.....16637...( 8834) 4sp cars & (7803) Auto cars.

 

I had a 69 Swinger 340 factory 4-speed, when I lived in Ca. so they made at least two!
