go back and sand again with 120-180 grit before you apply primmer. rust converter yes for 2 reasons first: to convert any rust you may have missed or is too deep to sand out. second: you are doing it outside there’s a lot of humidity in the air by the looks of the pic. etching primer ive only used it once or twice and wasn’t really impressed most etching primers only give you a 24 hr window to apply primmer filler. if i was doing it id just shoot it with epoxy primer most have a 72 hr window to apply filler primer. if you exceed that window with either you have to scuff the primmer and reapply. i see you still have allot of rust around the rain channels since its a pain in the butt to get paper in there i use a grinder with a soft wire brush caution though the wire do fly out and stick in clothes and skin and eyes if you don’t use safety glasses. looks like you are at the body filler stage now. hope i helped. one question your not using rattle cans are you?

Just a note on the soda blaster. Make sure you neutralize the soda before you paint. Otherwise you will run into issues with the paint not sticking to your car! And you need to blow that stuff of like crazy to get rid of it in every corner.

metal read is a rust converter. spray it on leave it wet for 20-30 minutes and when it dries i leaves a zinc film on the car. then you can see the areas you may have missed.. theres no need to scuff it. put down your metal ready let it set. then you can shoot your epoxy primer (if thats what you will use) about an hour after the metal ready turns white.

after you soba blast the car you will have to block/da sand it to get a surface that the primer will hold on to. are you using metal ready? or did you find another product?

nice job! takes a wile dont it.. i dont see any thing to terrible. the rust will have to be removed on those larger areas. the rust spots are they soft? if you can push a nail thru it it has to be removed. and patched.
